NB: If you had no anti-virus application installed or the subscription had expired *when the machine first got infected* and/or your subscription has since expired and/or the machine's not been kept fully-patched at Windows Update, don't waste your time with any of the below: Format & reinstall Windows. I found the answer to this. Even though I'd disabled the automatic windows updates, it seems (according to event logs on system) that MS Security Essentials had done two updates throughout the weekend, as previously mentioned. I found that I actually had to disable the update service it self in order for this to be completely shut down. The genuine msseces.exe file is a software component of Microsoft Security Essentials by Microsoft. Microsoft Security Essentials is an antivirus program. Msseces.exe is the file used to run Microsoft Security Essentials. This should not be removed unless it is being replaced by a better antivirus solution.
I tried to install the windows update kb5005102 on my Windows server 2019 essentials. But somewhere during the installation process it wil dump. In the Event viewers System log there are two bugcheck errors. The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 (0xffffe706ea587a80, 0x0000000000000002, 0xfffff8006f5d6a92

SHA-2 code signing support missing may imply definition updates for other security programs unavailable, including Microsoft Security Essentials
